Top of the world.
Great edit of Whistler Bike Park's Top of the World trail. We must admit that we felt that they'd hyped this trail a bit too much, especially considering that Europe has thousands of high-alpine trails...but it does ride really well and good, purpose-built high-alpine mountain bike trails are rare. It sure is a nice addition here in Whistler; this valley needs more alpine riding. Want to ride it next year, and a slew of other amazing trails in the area? Sign up for our Sea to Sky trip out of Vancouver.

Ride Whistler with us this summer!
Whistler, heard of it? Ha! The world knows Whistler but do they know what the locals know? Probably not. That's why you should join us on our 8-day Sea to Sky mountain bike trip July 23-30. Expect to ride trails beyond the Whistler Bike Park, from the Sunshine Coast to Squamish, Pemberton and Whistler Valley trails and more. Let's go!
Here's a video of a trail that we'll ride, Khyber's Pass off of Whistler Mountain.

Kevin Landry in Squampton
Just up the road from Vancouver and just down the road from Whistler is a town called Squamish...which some call Squampton because of it's trailer parks, red necks and new Wallmart from some angles it shines a little like Compton CA, kinda. Beyond these features lies one killer network of man-made trails built by masters like Big Red Ted of Red Bull Rampage fame and a host of other builders. The place is insane - big bike shuttles or endless all-mountain loops, Squamish is worldclass. This clip is of Big Mountain guide Kevin Landry who built the trail himself. Want to ride with Landry? Well you can...join us on our new Sea to Sky all-mountain or Backstage Pass DH trips this summer and the man himself will show you around. Or we can set you up with a private tour of our backyard. Don't worry, not all the trails are as burly as this one. Put it on full screen, sit back and enjoy the ride....

more crankworx...sat ride!
Ahhhhhhhh....Khyber. So we were graciously given some free day passes to the Whistler Bike Park which we put to very good use. After several coffees and a crack-of-noon meeting in the village we boarded the gondola for the 20 min cruise up Whistler Mountain. A few scenic viewings and token pointing to distant vista, we boarded our steeds for the 30 min climb to the peak and down to the Khyber into Babylon and into Tunnel Vision, a head-shakingly sweet and technical singletrack descent that ends near Creekside. Highlights...taking turns following Gray Rodier and Paddy Kaye on Khyber - railing tech root sections that can be taken at speed with uphill slopes that can be coasted up...Babylon and it's video game of overgrown saplings a la two wheel drift and finally Tunnel Vision which has been worked on and has some killer wood ramps and new berms. What a ride! Rolled home for a quick shower and a few beers and straight to the Crankworx Slopestyle event...

Whistler slideshow
Big Mountain hosted a great slideshow night this past Friday in Whistler as part of the Telus World Ski and Snowboard Festival. Talk about getting psyched to ride! Nearly a packed house viewed images from pro photographers Sterling Lorence, Harookz and Blake Jorgenson.
Big thanks to those who helped us out: Whistler Bike Park, Bike Co in Pemberton, Fanatykco and Evolution in Whistler, Tantalus Bike Shop in Squamish, Chromag, NSMB.com and Whistlermountainbike.com
